Metro to Operate on Holiday Schedule on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 24

All Metro operated buses and Metro Rail trains that include the Metro Red, Purple, Blue, Green and Gold Lines trains will be operating on a Sunday schedule on Thursday, November 24, Thanksgiving Day.

Work scheduled for the I-405 improvement project in the vicinity of the Mulholland Bridge and the I-405 freeway

The contractor for the I-405 Improvement Project is currently preparing to temporarily widen the freeway near the Mulholland Bridge in order to support the development of a construction work zone at the center of the freeway.

City of Santa Monica, L.A. Metro open $2 million, full-service “Bike Center,” the largest facility of its kind in U.S.

Marking a major new amenity for bike commuters and recreational riders in one of L.A. County's most popular beachfront destinations, the City of Santa Monica and Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) today officially opened the new $2 million "Santa Monica Bike Center," the largest, full-service bicycle facility of its kind in the United States.

Sunset-Boulevard-Bridge-Over-I-405-Planned-for-Closure-For-Two-Nights

The I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project contractor will implement a full closure of the Sunset Boulevard Bridge between Barrington Avenue and Veteran Avenue starting Thursday, November 17, 2011 for two consecutive nights to facilitate utility work on Sunset Boulevard and Church Lane.

Bus Shuttles to Replace Metro Blue Line Service in Downtown Los Angeles, Sunday, Nov. 20

Nighttime Sepulveda Boulevard Closures Between Montana Avenue and Sepulveda Way Planned for Three Nights Beginning Nov. 16

The I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements contractor will remove the abutments on the east side of Sunset Boulevard Bridge in West Los Angeles, work that requires the nighttime only closure of Sepulveda Boulevard between Montana Avenue and Sepulveda Way for three consecutive nights beginning Wednesday, November 16. Motorists will be required to detour around the area during the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

2011 Milosz Year: Consulate General of Poland dedicates Metro’s “Poetry in Motion/LA” poster commemorating the life of the Polish poet and Nobel laureate Czeslaw Milosz

In recognition of Poland's Presidency of the EU Council and in celebration of the 2011 Milosz Year, Consul General of Poland in Los Angeles Joanna Kozińska - Frybes unveiled a commemorative edition of Metro's Poetry in Motion/LA poster inscribed with a poem by Nobel laureate Czeslaw Milosz (1911 - 2004) at a public reception held Nov. 8 at the Central Library in downtown Los Angeles.

Metro holds ribbon-cutting ceremony for Duarte Sound Wall project along I-210 Freeway in the City of Duarte

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony today to celebrate the completion of the $2.3 million Duarte Sound wall project on the north side of the 210 Freeway between Highland Avenue and Buena Vista Street in the City of Duarte. The long-awaited half-mile sound wall will provide noise mitigation to adjacent Duarte schools and nearby residents along the I-210 freeway.
