In Pasadena and Downtown L.A. at MacArthur Park A fun and affordable “staycation” is only a few Metro stops away this summer. Now through Sept. 13, Levitt Pavilions for the Performing Arts in Pasadena and MacArthur Park are presenting free concerts combined with restaurant discounts for Metro patrons.

Wednesday, June 17: Metro Buses, Trains To Be Impacted By Downtown Lakers Parade/Rally June 17
Metro bus and train service will be impacted by Wednesday’s Los Angeles Lakers parade and rally celebration in downtown Los Angeles. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at the Staples Center and will travel south on Figueroa Street to the Coliseum where the rally is expected to start at 12 p.m.

Two-time Champion Metro Rail Train Team Wins International Rail Rodeo
2009 Solid Gold: Metro train operator and maintenance crew hold on to championship title and join championship Metro bus team in the APTA International winner's circle. Making Metro the team to beat for the second year in a row, the Los Angeles Metro championship rail team won the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) International Rail Rodeo in Chicago June 13. The repeat victory makes 2009 a solid gold year for Metro, whose championship bus team won top honors in the APTA International Bus Roadeo in May, for the second time in three years.

Metro urges pedestrians, motorists to observe safety laws as officers begin issuing tickets along new Eastside rail line
Part of campaign to boost safety City of Los Angeles Councilman and Metro Board member José Huizar today announced that three Los Angeles area law enforcement agencies have started issuing warnings and fines to motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians that ignore safety rules around the new six-mile light rail extension of the Metro Gold Line to East Los Angeles.
