Metro Finishes Re-paving Work on the Metro Orange Line; Service Now Back to Normal Operation

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (Metro) contractors have finished their work on re-paving a portion of the Metro Orange Line transitway between the intersections of Topham Street/Victory Boulevard and Balboa/Victory Boulevard that began on Dec. 3. Metro Orange Line buses have now resumed normal operation.

Metro To Add Weekday and Weekend Bus Service to Selected Lines Effective Sunday, Dec. 14; Some Metro Bus Lines To Be Restructured

Beginning Sunday, Dec. 14, Metro will provide additional bus service on selected bus lines to enhance service and will restructure several bus lines in an effort to provide more efficient service on major streets including Metro Rapid service improvements, route extensions and adjustments, and additional service during peak hours, late night and weekends.

New Fall Metro Motion on Metro.net

Metro's web site, metro.net, has launched the Fall 2008 Metro Motion cable television show on Metro Interactive, the metro.net video page. Metro Motion is a half-hour news show featuring a variety of entertaining and informative transportation news and feature stories. It runs quarterly on cable stations throughout Los Angeles County.

Metro Board Approves Construction of New Parking Garage to Serve Metro Gold Line Atlantic Station

Metro Honors Rosa Parks with First Annual Rosa Parks Human Rights Day on 53rd Anniversary of Her Civil Rights Protest

It wasn't a bus that started it but a bus was certainly the setting, so it is fitting, then, that Metro Board has declared Dec. 1 -- the date Rosa Parks refused to surrender her bus seat to a white male passenger -- Rosa Parks Human Rights Day. Metro salutes her by placing beautiful art posters commemorating her courage on buses as a reminder of who she was and what she represents. The posters were also distributed during a ceremony at the Imperial/Wilmington/ Rosa Parks Metro Rail Station.

Metro to Detour Metro Orange Line Service Between Topham/Victory and Balboa Boulevard as Repaving Continues

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (Metro) contractors will be re-paving a portion of Metro Orange Line transitway between the intersections of Topham Street/Victory Boulevard and Balboa/Victory Boulevard beginning Wednesday, Dec. 3, for approximately two weeks barring any weather-related delays. Metro Orange Line buses will be detoured off the transitway and stops may be temporarily re-located during this time.
