Go Metro to Levitt Pavilions for Free Concerts and Restaurant Discounts

Now through Sept. 14, Levitt Pavilions for the Performing Arts in Pasadena and in MacArthur Park, near downtown Los Angeles, are presenting free concerts, Wednesday through Sunday evenings. And Metro riders are eligible for discounts at nearby restaurants.

Metro Board Acts to Put New Transportation Sales Tax on November Ballot

The Metro Board of Directors today took a critical step in placing on the November ballot a new half cent sales tax measure for Los Angeles County that would finance dozens of transportation projects from fixing potholes to major highway construction, buying clean fueled buses and building new rail lines spread throughout the county in a concerted effort to keep pace with major population and job growth.

Metro Receives $16.1 Million in Prop 1B Transit Security Funding

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) received $16.1 million today from the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security as part of the yearly funding for transit security contained within the Proposition 1B bonding measure approved by the voters in November 2006.

Metro Will Remove Concrete Decks on East Portal as Part of Construction of Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension

Metro construction crews will remove the last part of decking on First Street, between Fresno and Lorena streets, in Boyle Heights, on Monday, July 14, in order to build the roof of the exit of the East Portal and finalize street restoration work as part of the construction of the Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension.

Go Metro to the dedication and opening of Vista Hermosa Park at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19. Vista Hermosa Park is a 10-acre recreation center with walking and hiking trails, a playground and soccer field, just west of downtown Los Angeles. The park is next to the Edward R. Roybal Learning Center, a 2,800-student high school that will open this fall.
