“L.A. Metro” Wins Prestigious International Design Award for Environmental Graphic Design

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) Creative Services Department has been selected by an international graphic design organization based in Washington, D. C., as one of six winners of its Top Honor Awards for 2007. The department’s work earned the prestigious award along with the National World War I Museum, the Arizona Cardinals Stadium, the Thailand Creative & Design Center in Bangkok and design projects at the University of Minnesota and Kent State University.

Santa Monica City Council Member Pam O’Connor Will Chair Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority Board of Directors

Santa Monica City Council Member Pam O’Connor becomes the new Chair of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) Board of Directors July 1. She replaces Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina who completes her term as chair on that date.

Metro FY 08 Budget Adopted

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Authority Board of Directors (Metro) today adopted a $3.1 billion budget for Fiscal Year 2007-08 that begins July 1, 2007.

New Metro Fare Structure Starts July 1, 2007

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) will change its fare structure for bus and rail service starting July 1, only the second change in the past 12 years. The shift will help give Metro financial stability while maintaining quality service.

Metro Builds Sanitary Sewer and Storm Drainage System in Boyle Heights for Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension Project

Construction of Right-of-way on First Street Begins as Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension Continues to Make Progress

Metro construction workers have begun building the right-of-way, installing the light rail tracks in the center of First Street, between Mission Road and Gless Street in Boyle Heights as the Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension project continues moving forward to opening in 2009.

Metro to Recover Nearly $40 Million From DWP in Overcharges for Utility Services

Metro Rail Maintainers Win at International Rail Rodeo

Metro’s team of rail equipment maintenance specialists took first place, June 2, in the maintainers competition at the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) International Rail Rodeo in Toronto. Metro came in third in the combined team score.

Metro to Hold Public Hearing June 20 on Proposed FY08 Budget
