Go Metro June 9 to HopeWalk and Help At-risk Kids

Go Metro to North Hollywood Saturday, June 9, for HopeWalk – a 5K walk to benefit the non-profit Hands for Hope organization. Hands for Hope sponsors a free after-school program for at-risk youths in the North Hollywood area.

Metro Board Adopts New Fare Structure in Compromise Move to Stabilize Agency’s Finances

Taking positive action to give the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) financial stability while maintaining quality service, the Metro Board of Directors today adopted a new fare structure for Metro Buses and Metro Rail service that goes into effect July 1, 2007. This is the first time Metro has adjusted fares in 3 ½ years and only the second change in the past 12 years.

Security Training Exercise June 2 to impact all Transit Services at Long Beach Transit Mall

On Saturday morning, June 2, all transit agencies providing services to the Long Beach Transit Mall on First Street between Long Beach Boulevard and Pine Avenue will be impacted by a planned law enforcement security exercise between the hours of 4:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. Bus and rail transit customers should allow additional time and expect possible delays during this time.

Go Metro to Special Hollywood Bowl Shows and Receive a Free Gift

Construction of Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension Continues along Third Street

Beginning, Saturday, May 19, Metro construction crews will re-configure overnight the southbound and northbound traffic flow on Eastern Avenue at the Third Street intersection in East Los Angeles. Construction of the right-of-way project will begin Monday, May 21, for the Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension. The work is expected to last approximately six weeks.

Metro to Reroute 14 Bus Lines Due to Planned March and Demonstration Along Wilshire Blvd. Set for Thursday, May 17

Due to street closures for a planned march and demonstration by the Multi-Ethnic Immigrant Workers Organizing Network (MIWON), Metro will reroute 14 bus lines that operate on and around Wilshire Blvd. on Thursday, May 17. The 14 Metro Bus Lines will be rerouted between the hours of 4 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Law Enforcement to Conduct Metro Blue Line Safety Awareness and Enforcement Operation May 16

On Wednesday morning, May 16, law enforcement will coordinate a joint Safety Awareness and Enforcement Operation at some of the busiest Metro Blue Line rail crossings to raise public awareness that it is unsafe for pedestrians or motorists to illegally pass through closed crossing gates where possible collision with approaching trains could result in serious injury or death.

Go Metro to Free Museum Day May 20 and Receive a Special Gift

Hop on the Metro Gold Line May 20 and travel back in Los Angeles history by visiting six museums along the Arroyo Seco during Museums of the Arroyo Day. The museums are free, there are free shuttles connecting them with the Metro Orange Line Heritage Square Station and riders will receive a gift by presenting a Metro coupon at the Heritage Square Museum.

A segment of Third Street in East Los Angeles to be re-striped; traffic detoured as construction work for Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension continues

Metro construction crews will re-stripe a segment of Third Street, between Herbert Avenue and Rowan Avenue in East Los Angeles, Wednesday, May 16 for one night only, and then detour traffic to the north side of the street in order to begin street restoration work on the south side for the next six weeks.

Metro Construction Crews Begin to Lay Down Track on Third Street in East LA for Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension

Beginning this week the traffic flow at Wood Avenue and Third Street in East Los Angeles has been reconfigured southbound and northbound in order to allow Metro construction workers to lay down track at the intersection of Pomona Boulevard and Woods Avenue as part of the construction of the Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension.
