Sleek, Fast Metro Rapid Buses to Roll on Cre Sleek, Fast Metro Rapid Buses to Roll on Crenshaw Boulevard Starting Monday, Feb. 2

(Los Angeles) - Faster commute times are coming to Crenshaw Boulevard beginning Monday, Feb. 2, with the start of Metro Rapid bus service. Metro Rapid Line 710 will operate weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to approximately 7:30 p.m. from the Hollywood/Vine Metro Red Line Station to the South Bay Galleria in Redondo Beach via Vine Street, Rossmore Avenue, Crenshaw Boulevard and Redondo Beach Boulevard.

Metro Board Approves Name Change for the San Fernando Valley Metro Rapidway Project to the Metro Orange Line

The MTA Board of Directors today approved the designation of the San Fernando Valley Metro Rapidway as the Metro Orange Line. The 14-mile dedicated busway, which will connect the North Hollywood Metro Red Line station and Warner Center in Woodland Hills, is currently under construction.

Metro, L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce and the Auto Club Lead Efforts to Restore Funds for Transportation

Members of the Mobility 21 Coalition including elected officials, transportation providers, business and labor leaders, as well as academic and community representatives, today adopted a state budget resolution calling for the restoration of transportation funds, including Proposition 42 revenues at a meeting held at the MTA. California voters approved Proposition 42 in March 2002, directing the sales tax on gasoline purchases for transportation purposes. The Governor's 2003-04 mid-year reductions and 2004-05 proposed budget include about $2.1 billion in transportation reductions. To date, $2.5 billion in transportation funds has already been loaned to the state General Fund.

La nueva imagen rediseñada del logotipo "Metro" refleja una nueva forma de brindar servicio por parte de la segunda agencia mas importante de transporte publico de la nación

¿Qué es un nombre? Un nombre implica  mucho cuando expresa una nueva forma de brindar servicio. Por lo tanto, MTA se encuentra perfeccionando la identidad de muy bien conocida de sus servicios tales como los autobuses Metro, los Metro Rapid, los trenes Metro, el Servicio Metro de Patrullaje de Grúas en las Autopistas y los Servicios de Transporte al Trabajo Metro, con el establecimiento de "Metro" como el nombre oficial de todos los servicios que ofrece la agencia.
