Work at Stations

Summary 

Regional Connector Constructors (RCC) will continue to perform construction activities that will continue through 2022 at the following locations:  

  • Future Little Tokyo/Arts District Station 
  • 1st St Portal construction (between Hewitt St and Alameda St) 
  • Mangrove yard (Temple St and Alameda St) 
  • Future Historic Broadway Station 
  • 2nd/Hope Station Yard 

Anticipated work hours, weather permitting, are from 4 am to 11 pm, Monday through Saturday. Sunday work will be scheduled as needed at the following locations:  

  • Future Little Tokyo/Arts District Station 
  • 1st St Portal construction (between Hewitt and Alameda) 
  • Mangrove yard (1st/Temple St) 
  • Future Historic Broadway Station 

At the 2nd/Hope station yard work is anticipated to continue through 2022. Work hours, weather permitting, are 6 am to 9 pm, Monday through Friday, and 5 am to 6 pm on Saturdays and Sundays as needed. 

What to Expect 

Activity will take place within construction yards. No additional traffic closures are needed. 

1st/Central Station Haul Route 

  • 1st St and Central Av: Haul trucks will enter the 1st St/Central Av yard traveling southbound on Alameda St and exit northbound on Central Av. 
  • 1st St Portal: Haul trucks will enter the 1st St yard from eastbound 1st St and exit eastbound to Mission Rd. 

Historic Broadway Station Haul Route 

  • Historic Broadway Station to Mission Yard: northbound on Broadway to Cesar Chavez Ave to Mission Rd 
  • Mission yard to Historic Broadway Station: returning on Spring St to the station entrance 

Hope Station Haul Route 

  • Concrete trucks will enter the area from southbound Grand Av, make a right on 2nd St, left onto Hope St, and stage within the yard. Work will be behind the current k-rail. 

Flaggers will be on-site to assist truckers entering and exiting the yard. 

Essentials 

Activities include excavation, hauling out spoils, installation of support of excavation bracing, equipment assembly/disassembly, utility installation, housekeeping, sandblasting, installation of elevators and escalators, steel rail installation, crane and train operations, and tunnel walkway construction.
