PLE1: Wilshire/La Cienega Station Construction Activities

December 1 - December 31

City of Beverly Hills – Wilshire/La Cienega Monthly Look-Ahead: December 2021  

 

This monthly notification is an outline of construction activities for the month of December 2021, pending City of Beverly Hills approval. Additional notices detailing these activities will be sent by email through the Purple Line Extension, Section 1 database. To be added to the Purple (D) Line stakeholder list for weekly updates, please email us at purplelineext@metro.net 

 

Subsurface Investigation on Wilshire Blvd/Stanley Dr. | Full Notice 

  • Over the weekends of December 3 to December 6 and December 10 to December 13, the design-builder will be implementing intermittent lane reductions on Wilshire Blvd. between La Cienega Blvd. and Carson Rd. This traffic control will support subsurface investigation along the tunnel alignment. 
  • This work will determine if additional jet grouting and soil improvement activities will be required within the tunnel tracks underneath Wilshire Blvd. 

 

Station Appendage Construction on Wilshire Blvd. between San Vicente Blvd. and La Cienega Blvd. – Phase 1A | Full Notice 

  • Wilshire Blvd. between San Vicente Blvd. and La Cienega Blvd. is reduced to two lanes in each direction. Left turns from WilshiroWilshire Gale Dr. are restricted. Left turns from Wilshire Blvd. to S Tower Dr. are also restricted. 
  • Intermittent bumpoutsbump outs may be in place between 9am and 3:30pm. This will reduce westbound Wilshire to a single lane. 
  • The north sidewalk on Wilshire Blvd. between San Vicente Blvd. and approximately 100 feet west of Gale Dr. will be restricted. A pedestrian detour is in place on the south side of Wilshire Blvd. 
  • Parking replacement is available at 8447 Wilshire Blvd. and 8350 Wilshire Blvd. from 10am to 3pm. These spaces will replace metered parking on Wilshire Blvd. between La Cienega Blvd. and San Vicente Blvd. The first hour will be validated for free by mentioning “Metro” upon entering the structure. 

 

Concrete and Material Deliveries at Wilshire Blvd. between San Vicente Blvd. and La Cienega Blvd. *  

  • Concrete and material deliveries to the La Cienega Station are expected to continue in December 2021. The frequency of these work activities is anticipated to continue daily. 
  • Work activities will be conducted from the Gale staging yard and intermittent traffic control on Wilshire Blvd. Additional details on traffic control and work hours will be available in future construction notices. 
  • Intermittent daily lane reductions on Wilshire Blvd. may continue in December 

 

Station Construction at Wilshire Blvd./La Cienega Blvd. and Wilshire Blvd./Gale Dr.  

  • Work hours within the La Cienega and Gale Staging Yards may continue 24 hours a day. 

Instrumentation Work, Utility Work, and Street Maintenance at Wilshire Blvd./La Cienega Blvd. 

  • Intermittent lane closures, turn restrictions, and sidewalk closures on La Cienega Blvd. and Wilshire Blvd. may be in place during non-rush hour traffic times (9am to 3:30pm, 8pm to 6am Monday to Friday, and 8am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday).
