Regional Connector Constructors (RCC) will continue to perform construction activities at the 2nd/Hope Station Yard. Work is anticipated to continue through 2021. Work hours, weather permitting, are 6am to 9pm, Monday through Friday, and 5am to 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays as needed.
Activities include: installing HDPE waterproofing, rebar installation, plumbing work, electrical conduit installation, backfilling, utility restoration, loading and offloading trucks, concrete placement, grading, pedestrian bridge construction, material handling, assembly of components, demolition and yard clean-up. Sound mitigations will be in place for early morning activities.
Intermittent closure of crosswalks at 3rd St and Flower St will be in place during work hours. Detour: use the alternate pedestrian route signage.
What to Expect:
Work will take place within the station yard with additional traffic restrictions in place as needed for pedestrian bridge construction and utility restoration. This includes an intermittent lane reduction on westbound 3rd St between Flower St and Figueroa St.
Concrete placement for walls and slabs will be intermittently scheduled during the early morning hours.
Concrete trucks will enter the area from southbound Grand Av, make a right on 2nd St, left onto Hope St, and stage within the yard. Work will be behind the current k-rail.
