Summary 

Little Tokyo Concrete Placement

Regional Connector Constructors (RCC) continue placing concrete within the future Little Tokyo/Arts District Station, 1st St Portal (between Hewitt St and Alameda St), Mangrove Yard (Temple St and Alameda St).  

Anticipated work hours, weather permitting, are 4 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday and 8 am to 3 pm on Saturdays. On the following days: 

  • Friday, November 19, 2021 
  • Wednesday, November 24, 2021 
  • Tuesday, December 7, 2021 

Historic Broadway Station Concrete Placement

Regional Connector Constructors (RCC) will begin placing concrete slabs within the Historic Broadway Station. 

Anticipated work hours, weather permitting, are 7 am to 12 am, on the following days: 

  • Wednesday, November 24, 2021 
  • Friday, November 29, 2021 
  • Friday, December 3, 2021 
  • Monday, December 6, 2021 
  • Tuesday, December 7, 2021 
  • Thursday, December 9, 2021 

Grand Av Arts/Bunker Hill Station Concrete Placement 

Regional Connector Constructors (RCC) will continue to place concrete slabs at the Grand Av Arts/Bunker Hill Station to build the station’s concourse level, walls, and sub-floors. This process will advance and be scheduled intermittently with the installation of utilities to support the new station. 

Anticipated work hours, weather permitting, are 4 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday and 8 am to 3 pm on Saturdays. On the following days: 

  • Monday, November 22, 2021 
  • Tuesday, November 23, 2021 

Flower St Concrete Placement 

Regional Connector Constructors (RCC) will continue pours at the north & south access shafts and for civil improvements. 

Anticipated work hours, weather permitting, are 3 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday and 8 am to 3 pm on Saturdays. On the following days: 

  • Monday, November 22, 2021 
  • Tuesday, November 23, 2021 

Essentials 

Activities include concrete delivery, pumping, and placement. Concrete delivery and placement times will vary throughout the anticipated work hours. Sound mitigations will be in place. Pedestrian, business, and local access will be maintained. 

What to Expect 

Little Tokyo Concrete Placement 

  • Concrete trucks will enter the project site from Alameda Street and stage within the yard. Work will be behind the current k-rail. No additional closures will be required. 

Historic Broadway Station Concrete Placement 

  • Work will be behind the current k-rail with no additional closures needed. Concrete trucks entering the project site through Spring St will be staged within the construction site. 

Grand Av Arts/Bunker Hill Station Concrete Placement 

  • Activities include Concrete pumping and placement within the station. The first hour will be used for setup. This activity is the construction continuation of the station structure. 

Flower St Concrete Placement

  • Work will be maintained within the current worksite, behind k-rail closures with no additional street closures or lane reductions needed. Trucks will be staged on southbound Flower St and enter the site south at the intersection of 4th St and Flower St, with a flagger on-site to assist.
