Center Street Sidewalk and North Yard Work

An event every week that begins at 7:00 am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, repeating until December 31, 2021
Workers demolished the east sidewalk and fence along the Division 20 Rail Yard (north of the 1st Street Bridge) in June 2021. A permanent fence is being installed and the work includes adding an anti-graffiti coating. The traffic control set along Center Street will remain until December 2021.
- Public-right-of way-along Center Street will be impacted during the demolition of the sidewalk and fence.
- Please note intermittent noise may occur during this work.
The Division 20 Portal Widening and Turnback Facility Project will enhance the Division 20 Rail Yard to allow for improved service times throughout the Metro Red/Purple Line system.
What to Expect
What: Potholing, excavation, saw cutting, demolition, trenching, shoring, sidewalk installation, building a retention wall along the fenced yard, and future restoration of the sidewalk.
Where: Division 20 Metro Yard north of the 1st Street Bridge to Commercial Street
When: October 11, 2021 through December 31, 2021.
Hours of Construction: Weekdays, 7am to 3:30pm
