Westbound 1st St Directional Closure

Regional Connector Constructors (RCC) will implement a directional closure of westbound (WB) 1st St between Vignes St and Alameda St. The 24/7 directional closure is anticipated to be in place until Spring 2022. This directional closure will allow for the removal of L Line (Gold) tracks, tie-in to the new system, and street restoration.
RCC will also continue utility investigation at the intersection of 1st St and Vignes St until January 28, 2022. Anticipated work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 pm to 5:00 am and Saturdays from 6 am to 3:30 pm, weather permitting.
This activity should not create a service interruption.
Activities include grinding, mobilization of k-rail, and street striping.
Access to adjacent businesses will always be maintained.
Pedestrian crosswalks will be maintained outside of the construction zone.
What to Expect
WB 1st St Directional Closure:
Activities include underground tieback installation, saw cutting, backfilling, and street restoration.
Sound mitigations will be in place during work hours.
Utility Investigation on 1st St and Vignes St:
Activities include saw cutting, excavation, surveying of existing underground utilities, and backfilling.
Construction equipment will be staged and demobilized from the site daily
WB 1st St Directional Closure
- Right on Vignes, left on Temple, left Judge John Aiso, back to on 1st St.
Utility Investigation at 1st St and Vignes
SB Vignes St will have a directional closure from Temple St to 1st St.
- Detour for SB Vignes St: Right on Temple St, left on Alameda Blvd, left on 1st St, right on Vignes St.
The L Line (Gold) bus shuttle will be on detour during the street closure, with bus stops relocated to Temple St and Alameda St. To plan your trip and view advisories at metro.net/advisories.
