Westbound 1st St Directional Closure
May 29, 2021 - May 29, 2022
Regional Connector Constructors (RCC) will implement a directional closure of westbound (WB) 1st St between Vignes St and Alameda St. The 24/7 directional closure is anticipated to begin on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 5 am and continue for approximately seven months. This directional closure will allow for the removal of L Line (Gold) tracks, tie-in to the new system, and street restoration.
Additional work may be scheduled at a later date. A supplemental notice will be issued once work is scheduled.
Activities include grinding, mobilization of k-rail, and street striping.
Access to adjacent businesses will be maintained at all times.
Pedestrian crosswalks will be maintained outside of the construction zone.
What to Expect
On Saturday, September 25, 2021, from 5 am to 6 pm, RCC temporary closure to allow for the implementation of the WB 1st St directional between Vignes St and Alameda St.
Temporary street closures:
- Eastbound (EB) 1st St, from Central Ave to Hewitt St
- Westbound (WB) 1st St, from Mission Rd to Alameda St
EB 1st St:
- Right on Central Ave, left on 2nd St, left on Hewitt, right on 1st St
WB 1st St
- Right on Mission Rd, left on Cesar Chavez Ave, left on Alameda, right on 1st St
The L Line (Gold) bus shuttle will be on detour during the street closure, with bus stops relocated to Temple St and Alameda St. To plan your trip and view advisories at metro.net/advisories.
