Cesar E Chavez Av Bus Stop Improvement Project

The Cesar Chavez Bus Stop Improvements project will add amenities at five or six locations on Cesar E Chavez Av between Alameda St and Vignes St to help improve the ridership experience and strengthen connections to other modes of transit throughout the area.

1. Southeast corner of Cesar E. Chavez Av/Vignes St

Metro owns a rectangular parcel of land where a transit pavilion to shelter transit riders, real time and static transit information, bicycle amenities, and enhanced landscaping will be added.

2. Southwest corner of Cesar E. Chavez Av/Vignes St

The now discharge-only stop, just outside Patsaouras Bus Plaza on Metro-owned property, can be upgraded with amenities complementing those determined to suit the area at the southeast corner of Cesar Chavez/Vignes.

3. Northwest corner of Cesar E. Chavez Av/Vignes St

New bus shelter, trash can and bench can be added in coordination with the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services.

4. Northeast corner of Cesar E. Chavez Av /Alameda St

New bus shelter, trash can and bench can be added in coordination with the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services.

5. Southeast corner of Cesar E. Chavez Av/Alameda St

New bus shelter, trash can and bench can be added in coordination with the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services.

6. Underpass

Another area for potential improvements is the underpass below the train tracks entering Union Station. Enhanced lighting, and potential other improvements could be added to improve security and walkability, and increase connectivity for passengers.
