CAC Meeting Minutes April 1, 2016

1. Meeting called to order with Pledge of Allegiance

2. Presentation (taken out of order)

Steve Jaffe, Deputy Executive Officer, General Services presented on modifications to Patsaouras Plaza drop off, Union Station East bus reconfiguration, and reconstruction of the bus plaza, and took questions from the CAC members on the project and on member parking concerns at Union Station. Jaffe would report back on access issues at the station. No action was taken.

3. Roll Call

Hank Fung, Darrell Clarke, Tony Banash, Seymour Rosen, Dalila Sotelo, Michael Conrad, William Weisman, Wally Shidler, Russ Davies. Quorum reached.

4. Chair’s Announcement

Michael Kravitz asked to resign from the position of secretary due to inability to attend Executive Committee meetings. A new secretary will be elected at the next meeting.

5. Minutes March 4, 2016 executive committee meeting

Motion by Rosen, seconded by Shidler, carried without objection.

6. Jim Seal Tribute

Tribute by Supervisor Sheila Kuehl at Metro Board meeting played and memories shared amongst members.

7. Confirm CAC General Assembly Meeting Agenda for April

April – Safety and security on the Metro Blue Line. Meeting will start at 6:00 p.m.

May – Cost of fare collection, TAP card, fare evasion, report back on budget.

Carried by common consent.

8. Metro Announcement re: April Community Meetings to discuss L.A. County’s future transportation plan.

Metro staff provided brochures and discussed the public engagement plan for the draft expenditure plan for the Metro potential ballot measure with members.

9. Old and New Business

Members discussed Expo Line preview tour schedule and possibly inviting LAPD management to a future meeting.

10. Adjourn in memory of CAC member Jim Seal.

Moved by Rosen, seconded by Banash, carried without objection.
