In addition to integrating artwork at all Metro stations, we also offer transit riders the opportunity to engage with a wide variety of artworks through multiple exhibition series. The unique, site-specific formats range from neighborhood posters and photography to community art banners and most recently on TAP cards and digital screens at station platforms.

Through the Eyes of Artists

This popular poster series commissions local artists to create original artworks that offer their personal perspectives on neighborhoods and places throughout Los Angeles County. The posters appear throughout the Metro system.

Art on TAP

Limited edition TAP cards are Metro's smallest artworks that fit inside pockets and accompany transit riders on their journeys.

Union Station Passageway

Showcasing portraiture, landscape, architecture, abstraction and beyond, the ever-changing exhibitions are designed to appeal to a wide variety of ages, backgrounds and tastes at the LA landmark.

Photo-based Artwork

This series of photo-based artworks are on temporary display at select Metro Rail stations and present a diverse range of subject matter.

More People Than You Know

Artworks featuring portraits of local transit riders by local artists are presented on digital displays interspersed with real-time transit information. The inaugural series appears at A Line (Blue) stations.

Poetry in Motion

An ongoing collaboration with the Poetry Society of America , this eye-catching graphic poster series features short snippets of thought-provoking and multi-lingual works inside Metro buses.

Construction Banners

Temporary artworks created by artists or through neighborhood-based arts organization programs wrap around construction sites to help mitigate the visual impacts of Metro project construction.
