Saint Louis is our Salvation,2014

Project Description

The artist documents intimate moments between her family and the family’s next generation’s firstborn, Louise, as a way of mourning the loss of her mother Louisa and seeking hope in the future of Louise. This work is a chapter in her long-term family series Three Dots and Tear Drops.

Artist Statement

Our grief (of losing my mother) could not exist in the same space of our happy new baby wanting our attention. I photographed him as a response to the joyous moments spending time with him after long days at work and school.
