Call to Artists: Nos Vemos / We See Us

Are you an artist, storyteller, photographer, filmmaker, dancer, crafter or creator who lives in or has longstanding ties to Southeast LA (SELA)? If so, we want to hear from you!   Metro Art is seeking artists and creators to apply to “Nos Vemos/We See Us. We invite creators of all kinds with a connection to SELA to share what makes the community special through this opportunity to plan, lead and document creative pop-up activities and/or micro-projects that highlight the people, places, spaces, cultures, local traditions, histories and creative visions at the heart of SELA.  Up to four (4) artists will be selected for this commission. Finalists will receive $500 and four selected artists will receive an additional amount of $2,400 to implement and document their project idea.

An info session/application workshop will be held on Zoom on Saturday, April 17 from 2-4pm (PDT). RSVP via Eventbrite.

Artist and Musician Resources for COVID-19

Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture has compiled an ongoing list of COVID-19 resources that may be of assistance to visual and performing artists during COVID-19. Concurrently, the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs is offering an updated wide-ranging directory of arts resources including education for kids and teens, virtual art experiences, agency resources and more. Metro Art also includes a regularly updated list of resources for artist and musician support in our email newsletter.
