SMS icon You can receive bus arrival information with a cell phone or mobile device by sending a text message specifying a bus stop, intersection, or address. The bus arrival information for your stop will be texted back to you within a few seconds -- however, some searches do take longer.

Get Arrivals with a Bus Stop Number (#)

1 Text “Metro” and your Stop Number to 41411

Leave a space between the word “Metro” and your stop number when entering text.

Get Arrivals with an Intersection (Vignes & Cesar E Chavez)

1 Text “Metro” and your Intersection to 41411

Leave a space between the word “Metro” and the intersection. Use an ampersand "&" between the intersection.

Leave a space between the word “Metro” and the address. Spaces are not necessary between the number and street address.

TIP: Text "STOP" to stop receiving messages from the system.
When you send your first message to the Nextrip system you will receive a reply indicating that you have subscribed to the system. This only means that you have subscribed to the possibility of using the alert feature.
The Nextrip system will never send you other messages besides the arrival prediction information you have specifically requested. Learn more with the link below.

 

Additional Text Features

If you plan to use the Text/SMS feature on a regular basis, there are additional options and commands you can use by using Nextrip's partner, Nextbus. Nextbus provides real-time info to many transit systems, including Metro. Learn about the additional features. Additonal options include:
