I take Metro everyday from USC to El Segundo. Its cheap and convenient. I take the connecting bus/train and I find it very good. I can just relax in the bus & train and use the time to read something up.

A tip to reach El Segundo is check for timings of buses 625 and 232 and plan accordingly to get off on Avaition Blvd or Mariposa Ave.
