Game Day Tips

Riding the Expo Line

  1. Pay Before You Board
    •  $1.50 per boarding; $5 for Day Pass
    • Fares are sold on TAP cards; buy them at ticket vending machines or from a Metro representative
    • Tip: Load your TAP card in advance to avoid waiting in line
  2. Choose the Nearest Station
    • East side of Coliseum: Use Expo Park/USC Station
    • West side of Coliseum: Use Expo/Vermont Station
  3. Service runs approximately every six minutes before and after games

Riding the Silver Line

  1. Pay When You Board
    • Cash – $2.45 per boarding
    • Day Pass – $5, loaded onto a TAP card
  2. Use 37th St/USC Station
    • Elevated station is on the Harbor Fwy at 37th St, approximately two blocks north of the Coliseum
    • Service runs approximately every 20 minutes during the day and every 30-60 minutes in the evening
    • Extra service will be added in both directions before and after each game

While on Board

  1. Small coolers and picnic baskets are okay to bring on board, but please keep aisles clear
  2. Eating or drinking while in stations or on board Metro buses and trains is not permitted
  3. Please do not bring barbeque grills, flammable products or oversized items on board

Safety

  1. Obey all traffic signals and instructions from Metro staff
  2. Look both ways before crossing the tracks and street
  3. Stand back from the edge of the train platforms and curbs at bus stops

How to Buy a Pass

All Metro passes and stored value are now sold on TAP, a durable plastic card you can use again and again.

TAP cards can be purchased and reloaded four ways:

  1. From any Metro Customer Center or from one of 400 sales locations throughout LA. For a map of sales outlets, click here.
  2. Online at taptogo.net. New cards take approximately one month to arrive in the mail.
  3. On-board buses (Day Passes only).
  4. From TAP vending machines (TVMs) at Metro Rail stations. Follow the steps below to purchase or load a TAP card from a TVM.

Tip: Load your TAP card with a $5 Day Pass in advance of the game to avoid waiting in line for your return trip.

Note that there is a one-time $1 fee for new TAP cards.
