How to buy a 1-way ride for regular riders

All fares purchased at ticket vending machines will need to be loaded on TAP cards. Paper tickets are no longer be available.

If you don't have a TAP card, you can purchase one along with your fare from the TAP vending machine for just a $1. Like all TAP cards, it can be loaded with any TAP product.

If you already have a TAP card, just follow the prompts to load it with the fare you want.

If you need a TAP card:

Regular Fare

How to buy a 1-way ride:
1. Push button A
Purchase new TAP card + fare
2. Push button F
TAP ($1 fee) and Metro fare
3. Push button C
Metro Rail 1-Ride
4. Insert Payment
$2.75 ($1 TAP card + $1.75 fare)

5. Take and TAP
Take blue TAP card from tray below
and tap at turnstile/validator
How to reload your existing TAP card with a 1-way ride:
1. Touch your TAP card to TAP
target below screen to start.


2. Push Button F
Add Metro fare
3. Push button C
Metro Rail 1-Ride
4. Insert Payment
$1.75
5. Touch card to TAP target
again to load fare.


6. Take and TAP
TAP your card at the turnstile/validator.
