A new generation of electric vehicles is slated to hit the Southern California market in late
2010. With re-emerging interest and potential for electric vehicles in the region, Southern
California will need to be prepared. This Quarterly Meeting will provide a venue for sharing
information on current electric vehicle efforts throughout the region, and examples of what
some cities are doing to be more sustainable.

Program to Include:

  • Update from LARC on regional climate action planning
  • Introduction to SOCALEV – A new collaboration to foster the plug-in readiness of Southern California
  • Efforts and perspectives from local governments and public utilities
  • Strategies and best management practices from local cities
  • Electric vehicle showcase

The Los Angeles Regional Collaborative for Climate Action and Sustainability (LARC) is a network of leadership from government, the business community, academia, labor, and environmental and community groups designed to share information, foster partnerships, and develop system-wide strategies to address climate change and promote a green economy through sustainable communities.
