Next Steps

The Hybrid Alternative will be recommended to Caltrans as the Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA), inclusive of the proposed improvements that enhance vehicular and pedestrian safety and create community open space in the State Route 2 (SR-2) Terminus project area. 

The next phase of the Project includes preparing the Plans, Specifications, and Engineering (PS&E). PS&E includes both the preliminary engineering (PE) and final design (FD) of the project. Metro expects to advertise and award the PS&E contract in early 2011. The specifications prepared in this next phase (PS&E) will be the basis for construction of the project. The development of the construction contract is anticipated towards the end of 2011 with construction beginning in the spring of 2012.
