Area: Metro's right-of-way east of Canoga Avenue between Vanowen Street and Chatsworth Station.

In preparation for the grand opening of the Metro Orange Line Extension, Metro is preparing to start Systems Testing along the Orange Line Extension. During this testing period, buses will intermittently run along the busway for testing purposes only. Please be advised that construction work will continue during this testing period.

Area: Marilla St and Owensmouth Av

The Contractor continues to work on Metro Orange Line Extension Project. As part of this work the Contractor will be installing the duct bank across the intersection of Marilla St and Owensmouth Av.

16/04/2012 to 01/05/2012 (Three Weeks)

Area: Canoga Av. from Victory Bl. to Prairie St.

The City of Los Angeles, Department of Public Works, and Bureau of Street Services will begin roadway improvements along Canoga Av. The project will require the preparation of the existing roadway by one of the following initial phases: grinding the street, full depth removals and repairing of failed areas of the street, or reconstruction of the existing roadway. The final phase is resurfacing the street. The work will be scheduled so that the project will be completed within three weeks, provided no extenuating circumstances.

Area: Marilla St between Canoga Av and Owensmouth Av.

The Contractor continues to work on Metro Orange Line Extension Project. As part of this work the Contractor will be installing the duct bank on Marilla St from Canoga Av to Owensmouth Av.

Area: Intersection of Canoga Av/Sherman Way, and Canoga Av. from Plummer to Marilla St.

As part of the continuing construction activities for the Metro Orange Line Extension, the Contractor will be implementing continuous street closures for the final grind and overlay (street paving). To accommodate this work the Contractor will implement full street closures at the intersection of Canoga Av/ Sherman Way and along Canoga Av from Plummer St. to Marilla St. 

30/03/2012 to 31/03/2012 (One Day)

Area: Intersections of Canoga Av/Vanowen St., Canoga Av/Sherman Way, and Canoga Av/Prairie St.

As part of the continuing construction activities for the Metro Orange Line Extension, the Contractor will be implementing continuous street closures for the final grind and overlay (street paving). To accommodate this work the Contractor will implement full street closures at the intersections of Canoga Av/Vanowen St., Canoga Av/ Sherman Way, and Canoga Av/Prairie St.

Area: Lassen Street between Remmet Av. and Old Depot Road.

As part of the continuing construction activities for the Metro Orange Line Extension Project, Metrolink’s Contractor will be cutting loops for new gate censors and placing foundations for new railroad crossing and pedestrian gates. To accommodate the work, Metro’s Contractor will be closing Lassen Street and the work will be performed at night.

Area: Intersections of Canoga Av/Vanowen St., Canoga Av/Valerio St., Canoga Av/Roscoe Bl., and Canoga Av/Nordhoff St.

As part of the continuing construction activities for the Metro Orange Line Extension, the Contractor will be implementing continuous street closures for the final grind and overlay (paving of the street). To accommodate this work the Contractor will implement full street closures at the intersections of Canoga Av/Vanowen St., Canoga Av/Valerio St., Canoga Av/Roscoe Bl., and Canoga Av/Nordhoff St. The closure will affect traffic traveling along Canoga Av.

12/03/2012 to 16/03/2012 (Four Days)

Area: Lassen St. between Canoga Av. and Remmet Av.

The Contractor will begin to work on the final stage of utility work on Lassen St. To accommodate the installation of the storm drain on Lassen Street, the Contractor will close the number one lane for westbound Lassen St. 

09/03/2012 to 10/03/2012 (One Day)

Area: Intersections of Canoga Av/Valerio St., Canoga Av/Saticoy St., and Canoga Av/Parthenia St.

As part of the continuing construction activities for the Metro Orange Line Extension, the Contractor will be implementing continuous street closures for the final grind and overlay (paving of the street). To accommodate this work the Contractor will implement full street closures at the intersections of Canoga Av/Valerio St., Canoga Av/Saticoy St., and Canoga Av/Parthenia St. The closure will affect traffic traveling along Canoga Ave.

05/03/2012 to 09/03/2012 (5 nights)

Area: Lassen Street between Remmet Avenue and Old Depot Road.

Metro's Contractor continues to work on the construction of the Lassen Street Overcrossing. In support of these activities, the Contractor will be removing the temporary bridge framework.

02/03/2012 to 03/03/2012 (Two Days)

Area: Roscoe Bl. from Canoga Av. to Deering Av. and Nordhoff St. from Canoga Ave to Deering Av.

As part of the continuing construction activities for the Metro Orange Line Extension, the Contractor will be implementing continuous street closures for the final grind and overlay (paving of the street). 

24/02/2012 to 25/02/2012 (Two Days)

Area: Saticoy St. from Canoga Av to Deering Av., and Parthenia St. from Canoga Av. to East Canoga Av.

As part of the continuing construction activities for the Metro Orange Line Extension, the Contractor will be implementing continuous street closures for the final grind and overlay (paving of the street). To minimize construction impacts to the community, the closures will be implemented during night hours. The first intersections to be paved will be Parthenia St from Canoga Av. to East Canoga Av. and Saticoy St. from Canoga Ave to Deering Av. The closure will affect traffic traveling north along Canoga Ave.

24/02/2012 to 27/02/2012 (Three Nights)

Area: Bus Rapid Transit crossings on Vanowen St. east of Canoga Av.

As part of the continuing construction activities for the Metro Orange Line Extension, the Contractor will be reconstructing the Bus Rapid Transit crossing on Vanowen St. just east of Canoga Av. As part of this activity the Contractor will remove the asphalt and place new Portland Cement Concrete and new asphalt concrete pavement on Vanowen St. The closure will not affect north-south traffic along Canoga Av.

17/02/2012 to 20/02/2012 (3 days)

Area: Chatsworth Metrolink/Amtrak Station - South parking lot.

The construction notice is regarding the south parking lot located at the Chatsworth Metrolink Station will be used as a construction staging area beginning Thursday, October 28, 2010. Parking is available on the north parking lot of the station.

Area: Chatsworth Metrolink/Amtrak Station

As part of the pre-construction activities for the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project, the Contractor will conduct a soil stability test near the Getty View Trailhead running along the northbound I-405 freeway between Getty Center Dr and Skirball Center Dr. This work activity is being conducted to survey and monitor the stability of the soil for the future construction of a retaining wall along the I-405 Freeway. Night time work for this activity will require freeway lane closures and ramp closures to facilitate the safe use of excavation equipment.
