This work will be performed in two stages: one stage will include placing k-rail with fencing along this section of Vignes St; the second stage will include excavation and relocation of the underground utilities.

This closure is necessary to remove deck plywood and demolish the existing Exposition Bl undercrossing.

Ramps within the closure limits may close as early as 7pm; freeway lanes will begin to close as early as 10pm, leading to a full southbound directional freeway closure from midnight to 5am.

To address congestion surrounding the area, particularly congestion at the merge points, the northbound I-405 Santa Monica Bl on-ramp will be temporarily reconfigured. This reconfiguration, scheduled to be complete by May 28, will add an additional merge lane and provide 1,000 feet of merging space for the Santa Monica Bl on-ramp and Wilshire off-ramp traffic. This reconfiguration is scheduled to be in effect for approximately three weeks.

Cotner Av is scheduled to be closed from Santa Monica Bl to Ohio Av. Local access will be maintained. The duct bank being replaced is a concrete encasement that protects underground utilities.

The former El Monte Station has now been closed and will be demolished and reconstructed over the next 18 – 20 months. A temporary bus terminal has been established as of September 12, and will be used for all bus operations until the new station is completed. The temporary terminal is located near the intersection of Ramona and Santa Anita in an area that was previously one of the parking lots for the station.
