1. If my car breaks down on the freeway, how can I call the FSP for help?

Simply call #399 for free from your cellular phone or call for help from a callbox on the side of the freeway.

2. Can I tip the driver?

No. FSP drivers do not accept tips. However, you may write or e-mail us a thank you letter and indicate the driver’s name so we can forward it to him or her.

The address of the FSP program is:

Freeway Service Patrol
One Gateway Plaza, M/S 99-11-3
Los Angeles, CA 90012-2952

3. Why won’t the FSP driver tow me home or to a mechanic?

The primary purpose of FSP is to get motorists and vehicles out of harm’s way. Tow operators need to resume service on the freeway as quickly as possible in order to continue assisting other stranded motorists.

4. How do I get a copy of the Freeway Service Patrol brochure?

Call 213.922.2957 or e-mail us. This is NOT a roadside service phone number. For roadside emergencies, use a Freeway Call Box or call 911 for roadside assistance.
