Area: Harbor Freeway (I-110) between Adams Boulevard in Los Angeles to 182nd Street in Gardena

The Metro ExpressLanes Demonstration Project along the Harbor Freeway (I-110) will lessen congestion, improve travel choices, and maximize efficiency on a heavily traveled north-south corridor connecting the South Bay to downtown Los Angeles.

Area: Westbound tunnel entrance to I-10 San Bernardino Freeway at El Monte Station

As part of the Los Angeles County Congestion Reduction Demonstration Program along the I-110 and I-10 freeways, Metro’s Contractor is working to install power and utility support units needed for the operation of dynamic message signs. The construction activities from the job site include sign foundation installation and retaining wall work at the Westbound tunnel entrance to I-10 San Bernardino Freeway at El Monte Station.

Area: San Bernardino Freeway (I-10) between I-710 Freeway in Los Angeles to I-605 Freeway in El Monte

The Metro ExpressLanes Demonstration Project along the San Bernardino Freeway (I-10) will lessen congestion, improve travel choices, and maximize efficiency on a heavily traveled west-east corridor connecting downtown Los Angeles to I-605 Freeway. The project will provide a new way to move traffic in LA County by converting the existing carpool lanes on I-10 to ExpressLanes. Anticipated project completion is early 2013. The Contractor will sawcut and demolish the existing k-rail barrier at various locations to make way for installation of power and utility support units needed for the operation of dynamic message signs.
