I-405 - Sepulveda Pass Project Notice

May 14

As part of the utility work on the Sunset Bridge, nightly full closures of Sunset Bl and Church Ln have been scheduled, starting Monday, May 14, 2012. Anticipated work hours and full closure times are from 10pm to 6am. Additional closures will be scheduled intermittently through June 14, 2012. Please see attached notice for additional information.

May 14

The contractor will begin reconfiguring the Pico parking lot on the south side of Pico Bl, just east of Sawtelle tonight, May 14, 2012, for two weeks. Most of the work will occur during daytime hours, 9am to 3:30pm, although some night work will be required from 9pm to 6am, when a lane closure is needed.

May 09

The contractor will perform grinding and general site clean-up at the catch basin on Sepulveda Bl and Montana Av. This work requires the closure of the northbound Sepulveda Bl right-turn pocket onto eastbound Montana Av during work hours.

May 07

The contractor will begin deconstruction of the MSE retaining wall west of the I-405 freeway, from Santa Monica to Iowa. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 7, 2012, from 7am to 4pm and will continue for one month. 

April 30

As part of the reconstruction of the northern half of the Sunset Bridge and in preparation for the construction of the roadway, the contractor will install girders on the bridge during five nights. Work is anticipated to start on Monday, April 30, 2012, with girder installation and freeway closures occurring between midnight and 5am.

April 28

The utility relocation on Sepulveda Bl, south of Montana Av and north of Moraga Dr, will resume 24/7 operations near the Montana Av construction site for approximately three weeks, starting on Saturday, April 28, 2012. For later work, 24/7 operations may be required and scheduled at the Moraga Dr construction site.

April 27

The scheduled removal of K-rail at the I-405 undercrossing at Wilshire Bl was postponed Friday. (Work must be rescheduled for the weekend when an extended closure until 9am can be granted.) The contractor will remove K-rail and restripe eastbound and westbound Wilshire Bl to return the street to its original capacity, Friday, April 27, 2012, 9pm to 9am. Rolling closures will be take place on eastbound and westbound Wilshire from 9pm to 9am. 

April 20

As part of the ongoing waterline improvements along Sepulveda Bl and on Bronwood Av, connection to the new water lines will take place the night of Friday, April 20, 2012. This work will require the temporary interruption of water services. LADWP customers affected by the service interruption will be notified by LADWP.

April 18

The contractor will remove a portion of the Getty Center Drive Bridge deck and barrier rail for future widening of the undercrossing. Demolition of the west side of the bridge is anticipated to start on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, followed by demolition of the east side of the bridge on Thursday, April 19, 2012. Anticipated work hours are between 9pm and 6am, weather permitting.

April 16

The contractor will install a sewer bypass at the manhole near the intersection of Waterford St and Church Ln. Work is anticipated to start on Monday, April 16, 2012, through Friday, April 27, 2012. Anticipated work hours are from 9am to 5pm, weather permitting.

April 16

The contractor will start the excavation of the first 500 feet of duct bank for the undergrounding of power lines on Bellagio Rd on Monday, April 16, 2012. This activity is part of a five-month relocation project and requires the temporary restriction of street parking during work hours.

April 13

The contractor will pour bridge diaphragms and set deck panels on the west side of the Ohio undercrossing on Friday, April 13 and Monday, April 16, 2012, from 9pm to 6am. A full closure of Ohio is required each night from 9pm to 6am. Traffic will be detoured to Santa Monica Bl.

April 13

The contractor will be grading and paving the southbound Sepulveda Bl lane between Montana Av and Constitution Av. This work requires the temporary reduction of Sepulveda Bl to one lane in each direction, starting 9pm on Friday, April 13, 2012, through 6am on Monday, April 16, 2012, weather permitting.

April 13

The utility relocation on Sepulveda Bl, south of Montana Av and north of Moraga Dr, will resume. Work is anticipated to start on Friday, April 13, 2012, for approximately five weeks. 24/7 operations will be required and scheduled at a later time.

April 10

The contractor will work on a storm drain line on Homedale St, between Sepulveda Bl and Thurston Av. A full-street closure is necessary for this activity. Work is anticipated to start on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, through Friday, April 20, 2012. Anticipated work hours are from 9pm to 6am, weather permitting.

April 10

The contractor will work on a storm drain line on Homedale St, between Sepulveda Bl and Thurston Av. A full-street closure is necessary for this activity. Work is anticipated to start on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, through Friday, April 20, 2012. Anticipated work hours are from 9pm to 6am, weather permitting.

April 09

The contractor will perform preliminary investigation of underground utilities at the storm drain located on Church Ln at Waterford St. Work is anticipated to start on Monday, April 9, 2012, for one week, between the hours of 7am and 3:30pm, weather permitting.

April 04

The contractor will begin relocating utilities around the Mulholland Bridge. This work is anticipated to begin Wednesday night, April 4, 2012, and last approximately four months. The Mulholland Bridge will undergo frequent nighttime closures between 10pm and 6am during this utilities relocation work.

April 03

The contractor will begin removing the edge form of the overhead deck on the sound wall located along the west side of the I-405, just north of Constitution to Waterford. Work is scheduled to start on Tuesday, April 3, for three days, from 7am to 4pm. This work will require the closure of the bike path. Bikes and pedestrians will be detoured around the closure. 

April 02

The contractor will begin excavating utilities and removing dirt along the east side of Beloit, from Mississippi to Missouri, starting Monday, April 2, 2012, for one month. Work will take place from 7am until 4pm. Night work is required on Thursday, April 5, 2012, from 9pm to 4am, for one night only. This work will take place from the freeway side of the sound wall and will entail grading of soil. One night of work is required due to a needed lane closure on southbound I-405.

March 23

The contractor is scheduled to implement additional full-directional freeway closures to construct the falsework structure for Mulholland Bridge. The directional full-freeway closures are anticipated to begin Friday, March 23, 2012, and last for two days. The closures will affect lanes from US 101 to the Getty Center Dr ramps, weather permitting. 

March 20

Catch basin replacement at the intersection of Sepulveda Bl and Homedale St is anticipated to start on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, for approximately two weeks. Anticipated work hours are from 9pm to 6am, weather permitting.

March 16

The contractor will reconfigure the southbound I-405 Getty on-ramp and place K-rail during a weekend closure of the ramp, starting on Friday, March 16, 2012. This work is necessary for the eight-month realignment of the ramp. Please see attached notice for additional information. 

March 15

The contractor will set bridge girders on the southbound I-405 over Ohio Av on Thursday, March 15, 2012, for two nights, 9pm to 6am. This activity will require the full closure of Ohio Bl, from Cotner to Beloit. Once the girders are set, additional work will take place on the Ohio Av undercrossing starting Monday, March 19, 2012, for two weeks. Work will take place from 9pm to 6am. Intermittent closures of Ohio, from Beloit to Cotner, are expected. 

March 12

Installation of Sunset Bridge false work for bridge reconstruction will now be installed closest to Sepulveda Bl, requiring the nightly closure of Sepulveda Bl between Church Ln/Ovada Pl and Montana Av for approximately two weeks, starting Monday, March 12, 2012 at 10pm.

March 09

The contractor will perform drainage improvement work at the southbound I-405 Getty on-ramp, requiring a full weekend closure of the ramp, starting at 7pm on Friday, March 9, 2012, through 6am on Monday, March 12, 2012.

March 09

The contractor has completed the sewer line and will be paving Sepulveda Bl between Montana Av and Constitution Av. This work requires the temporary reduction of lanes on Sepulveda Bl. Activities are anticipated to start at 7pm on Friday, March 9, 2012, through 6am on Monday, March 12, 2012.

March 08

Full closure of eastbound and westbound Wilshire at the corner of Wilshire Bl and Sepulveda Bl, 10pm to 6am, March 8, 9, 12 and 20. Eastbound and westbound Wilshire will not be closed simultaneously. 

March 07

The contractor will perform potholing operations to investigate underground utilities on Bellagio Rd, north of Moraga Dr. Work is anticipated to start on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, through Wednesday, April 4, 2012. Work hours are from 9am to 4pm, weather permitting. This activity requires the temporary restriction of street parking on the west side of the street during work hours. Access will be maintained

March 06

Full closure of eastbound and westbound Wilshire at the corner of Wilshire Bl and Sepulveda Bl nightly, 10pm to 6am, March 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 19. Eastbound and westbound Wilshire will not be closed simultaneously. 

March 01

The utility relocation on Sepulveda Bl, between Montana Av and Moraga Dr, will resume with 24-hours-a-day operation for approximately five days. Additional 24/7 operations will be required and scheduled at a later time. A construction notice with additional information will follow.

February 28

The contractor will be pouring concrete at an inlet structure, moving excess rebar, and cleaning up a future construction zone along National Bl at Sepulveda and Sawtelle for one night, Tuesday, February 28, 2012, from 10pm to 4am.

February 28

The contractor will demolish 300 feet of roadway along the shoulder of the southbound I-405 between Santa Monica Bl and Olympic Bl for one night, Tuesday February 28, 2012, from 9pm to 5am. 

February 27

The contractor will continue installing a drainage line along and under the eastbound I-10 connector ramp to SB I-405, starting Monday, February 27, 2012, for approximately three months. Work will occur during the day from 7am to 5pm and also at night from 9pm to 5am. There will be intermittent closures of the eastbound I-10 connector ramp to southbound I-405 from 9pm to 5am.

February 24

Power relocation work continues on Sepulveda Bl at the Getty ramps. An additional weekend for vault installation work has been scheduled to start at 9pm Friday, February 24, 2012, through 6am on Monday, February 27, 2012.

February 24

Installation of false work for bridge reconstruction at Sunset Bl has been scheduled from Friday, February 24, 2012, through Wednesday, February 29, 2012, and from Friday, March 2 through Wednesday, March 7. Work will occur during weeknights.

February 23

The contractor will continue installing a sound wall along the eastern shoulder of the NB I-405 connector ramps to eastbound I-10 and westbound I-10, starting Thursday, February 23, 2012, for approximately three months.

February 23

Removal of the freeway wall along the NB I-405 between Bellagio Rd/Acanto Dr to Getty Center Dr started on Thursday, February 23, 2012, and will continue through Monday, March 19, 2012. Work hours are from 8am to 5pm, weather permitting.

February 13

The contractor will replace the storm drain line and remove and replace catch basins at the northwest and southwest corners of Sepulveda Bl and Montana Av, starting Monday, February 13, 2012. This activity requires the full closure of the Montana Av undercrossing.

December 01

The contractor will perform sewer line work along Sepulveda Bl and the intersections of Homedale St and Bronwood Av. Preliminary work has been completed. Relocation will take place from December 1, 2011 through April 2012. Work hours are from 6am to 10pm, with street closures between the hours of 9am to 3:30pm, Monday through Saturday.

November 07

Sewer line installation will commence along Sepulveda Bl, between Montana Av and the Sunset Bl Bridge, for approximately five months. This work requires daily closures at the intersections of Homedale at Sepulveda and Bronwood at Sepulveda.

September 27

The removal and reconstruction of the wall on the west side of Sepulveda Bl between Moraga Dr and the Getty ramps is ongoing and will continue in phases, each phase lasting for approximately six months.  The contractor will excavate the retaining wall from the freeway side and from the Sepulveda Bl side for its removal. Anticipated work hours are from 9pm to 6am.  This activity is subject to change.

July 31

The schedule for the relocation of existing overhead utility lines along Sepulveda Bl has been revised. Crews will now work seven days a week, and work will be performed every night. Weekday work will be performed during the nighttime, 9pm to 6am. In addition, work will be conducted continuously throughout the weekend during daytime and nighttime hours: Work will be performed Friday night at 9pm through Monday at 6am.

July 06

Existing overhead utility lines will be relocated underground along Sepulveda Bl, between Mountaingate Dr and the area located approximately 500 feet north of Skirball Center Dr. This work is necessary to support upcoming work involving the relocated southbound Skirball ramps and the widening of Sepulveda Bl. Work is anticipated to begin Wednesday, July 6, 2011, and last approximately 11 months. Work crews will work in various sections at a time within the construction work zone area, which is approximately 4,000 feet long along Sepulveda Bl.  This activity will require traffic along Sepulveda Bl to be reduced to one lane in each direction during working hours.
