| MTA updates the following information about "lifeline" transit services available in Los Angeles County on a daily basis, or as changes occur. | |

LADOT/DASH - LADOT/DASH Route, schedules, information: www.ladottransit.com Telephone: (213, 310, 323 or 818) 808-2273. All LADOT Commuter Express and DASH buses accepting MTA and Metrolink passes/fare during the transit strike.
Torrance Transit (310) 618-6266 - is running Route 1 into downtown Los Angeles on weekdays. Change in service allows patrons to board and depart at the Gateway Transit Center at Union Station. Torrance Transit also runs Route 1 weekend shuttle service from the Artesia Transit Center to Gateway Transit Center at Union Station on the weekends, with regular stops along the way. Santa Monica Big Blue Bus
is adding more buses to ease overcrowding to Line 10 (Santa Monica-LA Fwy. Express)
Foothill Transit has
added more buses to Lines 486 (Cal Poly Pomona-Baldwin Park-LA Fwy. Express)
and 492 (Montclair-Arcadia-LA Fwy. Express)
Long Beach Transit has
added more buses to Line 5 on Long Beach Boulevard
Gardena Transit will run
Line 1 Express (Gardena-LA Fwy. Express) as local service and add 3 buses
Montebello Transit has
added more buses on Line 10 (Whittier Blvd.) and Line 40 (Beverly Blvd.)
Montebello is increasing
service on Line 50 between Washington Blvd. and downtown Los Angeles
Red Line Special: Metrolink is
operating service along the route of the Metro Red Line in downtown Los
Angeles on weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to approx. 8:30 p.m.
Route A: Gateway
Transit Plaza to Wilshire/Vermont Station.
Route B: Gateway Transit Plaza to 7th Street Metro Center Station via
5th & Flower.
Redondo Beach
now operates service between
Marine Green Line Station and the Redondo Beach Pier area
Shuttle: New shuttle service offers point-to-point service from Warner Center, Artesia Transit Center at Artesia Blvd. and Harbor Fwy and two routes to East Los Angeles (stops at County-USC Medical Center) to Gateway Transit Center in downtown Los Angeles.

can plan their trips on all these rail and bus lines by accessing the Metro Trip
Planner on MTA’s Internet web site at www.mta.net.
Riders
also can find carpools and vanpools near their homes or workplaces by clicking
on the “Ridesharing” link on MTA’s Internet home page or by going directly
to www.ridematch.info.
In addition, transit riders
may dial 1-800-COMMUTE (800-266-6883) for information on transit services,
ridesharing, Metrolink or bike commuting.
Transit passes, tokens and fare media
While
MTA mechanics remain on strike, all municipal bus operators and Metrolink
commuter rail have agreed to accept MTA October passes as valid fare payment
until further notice.
Agreements are in place
with 15 municipal transit operations to accept October passes, including MTA
tokens, through the
month of November. These include: Access Services
Inc., Arcadia Transit, Claremont Dial-a-Ride, Commerce, Culver City, Long
Beach Transit, Foothill Transit, Gardena, La Mirada, LADOT/DASH, Montebello,
Norwalk, Redondo Beach, Santa Monica and Torrance. MTA passes
are also honored on all Metrolink trains.
MTA passengers who
purchased monthly, semi-monthly or weekly passes for October should retain
these passes until the strike has ended. MTA will announce at a later date a
plan to credit passholders for the days on which Metro Bus and Metro Rail
service was not available.
