Public Invited to Final Metro Orange Line Canoga Transportation Corridor Community Meetings Nov. 17, 18 The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) will conduct two final community meetings on the Metro Orange Line Canoga Transportation Corridor Project Nov. 17 and 18 and invites public participation. The final project presentations will bring the public up to date on significant project developments that have occurred since the last round of meetings, including details on stations, traffic impacts, operations, bike lanes, landscaping and privacy wall plans. Metro will also outline the project’s schedule leading to the Metro Board’s action on the Project’s Final Environmental Impact Report scheduled for January 2009. Two community meetings are scheduled as follows:
Last June, the Metro Board approved Metro staff's recommendation for the Locally Preferred Alternative, which includes the construction of the Busway Alternative on the railroad right-of-way owned by Metro and a grade separation to the Chatsworth Metrolink Station. The Canoga Transportation Corridor project is a proposed four-mile northern extension of the Metro Orange Line that would connect the existing Canoga Park Station with the Chatsworth Metrolink Station.
