FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Go Metro to Little Tokyo for Cherry Blossom Festival
Go Metro to the seventh annual Cherry Blossom Festival on Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6 in the Little Tokyo district on San Pedro Street between First and Third streets and Second Street between Los Angeles and Central streets in downtown Los Angeles. Admission is free to the public.

There will be live entertainment of Japanese dancing, Taiko, a Kimono fashion show, runway fashion show, awards, kid activities, martial arts arena, Ondo dancing, health expo, cherry blossom food court and a variety of performances in dance, singing and music. Hours will be April 5 from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and April 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking will be limited so public transit is the best way to avoid traffic and parking hassles.

Take your Metro pass or proof of fare to the information booth at the festival on the corner of Second and San Pedro. The first 500 receive a signed poster of Koi, Blue Gates or Courtyard by actress/artist Kellye Nakahara Wallet, best known for her role as nurse Kellye in the television series M*A*S*H.

The festival is within walking distance of Metro Red Line Civic Center/Tom Bradley station on Hill Street. Metro Bus Lines 30, 31, 330, 16, 316, 40, 42, DASH DD and DASH downtown buses serve the area. Metro fares are $1.25 for a one-way ticket and $5 for an all day pass. Passes can be purchased on board Metro Buses or at Metro Rail station ticket vending machines.

To plan your trip, use the Metro Trip Planner at www.metro.net or call 1-800-COMMUTE. For more information on the festival go to www.cherryblossomfestivalsocal.org or call (626) 683-8243.
