Learn How to Save Energy at AltCar Expo Sept. 26 and 27 in Santa Monica

Save energy -- yours and the earth's -- when you Go Metro to the third annual Alternative Energy and Transportation (AltCar) Expo in Santa Monica, Sept. 26 and 27. Metro's clean-burning CNG (compressed natural gas) buses can deliver you with ease to the show at Santa Monica Civic Auditorium.

This year's AltCar Expo will showcase more than 100 alt-fuel and ultra-efficient vehicles, including zero-emission electric cars, hybrids, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles rated in excess of 100 miles per gallon and those running on hydrogen fuel cells, natural gas, propane, biodiesel and ethanol.

Scooters, Segways, electric motorcycles, bicycles and more also will be on hand. Low-speed and freeway-capable vehicles will be available for public rides and test drives and for immediate purchase. Tesla Motors will display its P1 all-electric sports car. And panels will explore the environmental, economic and policy aspects of mass transit, urban planning, trucking and goods movement.

AltCar Expo is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, 1855 Main St., Santa Monica 90401. Admission is free.

To find out more about AltCar Expo, go to altcarexpo.com or call (310) 390-2930. For more information on getting there, go to metro.net or call 1-800-COMMUTE.
