The new musical comedy, based on the hit movie "9 to 5", features a brand-new score by seven-time Grammy Award-winner Dolly Parton that includes the blockbuster title song.
It stars Allison Janney as Violet Newstead, the super-efficient office manager; Stephanie J. Block as frazzled divorcee Judy Bernly and Megan Hilty as secretary Doralee Rhodes, the role played by Parton in the movie. Marc Kudisch plays their boss.

“9 to 5: The Musical” is presented by Center Theatre Group, by special arrangement with Robert Greenblatt, under the auspices of a new program initiated by Michael Ritchie, in which CTG presents original new musicals and large-scale productions through partnerships with Broadway producers. The program recently saw the Broadway transfers of the critically acclaimed presentations of both “The Drowsy Chaperone” and “Curtains.”
