Go Metro and Save 20 percent on Tickets to '9 to 5: The Musical'

Go Metro to the world premiere performances of "9 to 5: The Musical," at the Ahmanson Theatre, Sept. 3 through Oct. 19, and save 20 percent on selected tickets. Just hop on the Metro Red Line and get off at Civic Center Station. The Ahmanson is just a short walk up the hill.

The new musical comedy, based on the hit movie "9 to 5", features a brand-new score by seven-time Grammy Award-winner Dolly Parton that includes the blockbuster title song.

It stars Allison Janney as Violet Newstead, the super-efficient office manager; Stephanie J. Block as frazzled divorcee Judy Bernly and Megan Hilty as secretary Doralee Rhodes, the role played by Parton in the movie. Marc Kudisch plays their boss.

To receive the discount, which is available for selected Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening seats, show your valid Metro pass or Metro Rail ticket at the Ahmanson Theatre Box Office. Or buy tickets by phone at (213) 628-2772 or online at centertheatregroup.org and use the promotional code Metro.

“9 to 5: The Musical” is presented by Center Theatre Group, by special arrangement with Robert Greenblatt, under the auspices of a new program initiated by Michael Ritchie, in which CTG presents original new musicals and large-scale productions through partnerships with Broadway producers. The program recently saw the Broadway transfers of the critically acclaimed presentations of both “The Drowsy Chaperone” and “Curtains.”

The Ahmanson Theatre is located at 135 N. Grand Avenue near the Metro Rail Civic Center Station. For directions via Metro go to the Trip Planner at metro.net.
