Go Metro to African Marketplace and Enjoy Music and Food from Around the World The best in African and world music, crafts and cuisines will be part of the African Marketplace and Cultural Faire when it returns to Rancho Cienega Park in Los Angeles for three weekends: Aug. 16-17, Aug. 23 and 24 and Aug. 30 and 31 and Sept. 1. It's easy to get there via Metro. The 2008 Cultural Faire will feature multiple music stages, a Literary Village, Health Pavilion, Wholistic Village and exhibits of art and crafts reflective of the rich cultures of the African Diaspora, including decorative, functional, wearable and collectible art items. Visitors will also be able to indulge in international fare from vendors selling foods as diverse as ice cream or peach cobbler, tacos or snow cones. Also this year will be Cinema After Dark, an outdoor showcase presenting premier African and African Diaspora films. Rancho Cienega Recreaton Center is located at 5001 Rodeo Road. Hours for the Faire are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. General admission will be $8; senior citizens $4 and children under 10, $4.
