Metro Community-Based Transit Service Sector Governance Councils Set August Meetings; San Gabriel Valley Sector Will Not Meet; Public Hearing Set For Westside/Central Sector Meeting

Metro’s community-based transit service sector governance councils will hold their regular monthly public meetings in August to discuss various transportation issues in their service sectors. Please note that the San Gabriel Valley Service Sector Governance Council will not meet in August.

In addition, the Westside/Central Service Sector will hold a public hearing on proposed bus service enhancements instead of their regular monthly meeting in August. The hearing is set for Wednesday, Aug. 13 beginning at 5 p.m. and will be held at the La Cienega Tennis Center, 325 S. La Cienega Blvd., in Beverly Hills.

The purpose of the public hearing will be to gather public input on Metro Bus Lines 33/333 (Downtown LA – Santa Monica via Venice Bl.) and a proposal to restructure those two routes to improve service quality. If approved, the changes would be implemented in December 2008.

Residents within the service sectors including the San Fernando Valley, Gateway Cities of southeast Los Angeles, the South Bay and the Westside/Central area interested in helping to improve Metro Bus service in their communities are encouraged to attend the monthly meetings.
