Metro to Perform System Maintenance on Rail Lines July 20-27
The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) will be performing needed system maintenance on several of its rail lines between July 20-26. Passengers traveling on the following Metro Rail lines during this time can expect to experience some delays and transfers:
Metro Red/Purple Line
Starting on Sunday, July 20 through Friday, July 25 after 9 p.m., all Metro Purple Line passengers traveling to or from Wilshire/Western or Wilshire/Normandie Stations need to transfer at Wilshire/Vermont due to system maintenance. At Wilshire/Vermont, Metro Purple Line trains will use the lower level, Red Line trains to Union Station will be on the upper level and Red Line trains to North Hollywood will be on the lower level. On Friday, July 25, all trains will use the lower level.
Metro Green Line
Starting on Sunday, July 20 through Thursday, July 24 Metro Green Line trains will run every 18 minutes due to system maintenance. Also, required elevator maintenance will take place on Monday, July 21 through Tuesday, July 22 at the Long Beach Station. Elevator maintenance will also take place at the Vermont Station on Wednesday, July 23 through Thursday, July 24.
Metro Gold Line
Starting on Monday, July 21 through Saturday, July 26, southbound Metro Gold Line trains to Los Angeles may be delayed one to three minutes due to vehicle testing and system maintenance.
Metro Blue Line
Friday and Saturday, July 25-26, from 9 p.m. until close of service, northbound trains to Los Angeles will run 16 minutes later than the regular schedule beginning from Transit Mall at 8:57 p.m. and every 20 minutes through 11:47 p.m. Trains to Wardlow will run according to regular schedule between 11:41 p.m. and 1:41 a.m.
Sunday, July 27 beginning at 7:34 a.m. from Transit Mall, northbound trains to Los Angeles will run every 20 minutes until 2:34 p.m. later than regular schedule. Beginning 7:25 a.m. from 7th/Metro Center, trains will run every 20 minutes until 2:25 p.m, then return to regular schedule.
Metro apologizes for any inconvenience these operations cause to its rail customers.
