Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa Encourages Residents and Motorists To Be Safe, Alert Around New Metro Gold Line East Los Angeles Extension

City of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa today released an important public safety message promoting safety in East Los Angeles now that light rail trains are being tested along the new six-mile alignment of the soon to open Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension.
Mayor Villaraigosa appealed to residents and motorists to be safe and alert around the light rail trains that will be servicing the Little Tokyo/Arts District, Boyle Heights and East Los Angeles communities along Alameda, First, Indiana and Third streets and Pomona Boulevard.
Metro has deployed ambassadors to help the community become familiar with the new traffic patterns.
