New Quirky ‘Go Metro’ Videos Launch On metro.net, As Well As At The Movies

Metro's web site metro.net has launched five humorous Go Metro videos promoting ridership and soon those spots will begin showing at movie theaters throughout Los Angeles County. The videos promote ridership on the bus and rail system, as well as other Metro programs, including carpooling and vanpooling.

Featuring actors Louis Lombardi ("The Sopranos" and "24") and Terry Crews ("Everybody Hates Chris"), the videos will run on 616 movie screens around L.A. County during the pre-feature entertainment segment for three weeks, which began July 17 and will repeat for several weeks starting Sept. 18.

The spots are: “Stop Go Stop” (traffic theme), “Fumes Choke Our Town” (green), “Carpool, Vanpool, Too Cool” (carpool/vanpool), “Planning, Building, Growing Now” (future) and “Metro’s the Deal Bro” (gas prices).

"The new videos are meant to be kind of quirky but the point is, as always, to get the attention of new potential customers," said Matt Raymond, Metro Chief Communications Officer. "We created the spots to appeal to a young and hip audience -- an audience that may have access to a car but is socially conscious and environmentally concerned and willing to make changes, like switching their commutes to mass transit, to help the world be a better place."

To see the videos go to metro.net. Or you can catch them at the movies.
