MTA Schedules Workshops on Public Art Opportunities for Artists

(LOS ANGELES) MTA Metro Art will conduct a series of orientation workshops in January on how to apply for commissions for upcoming transit-related public art opportunities. Projects under consideration include a variety of artistic opportunities, such as designs for bus stops, rail stations, streetscapes, bus exteriors, construction fences and trading cards.

MTA commissions artists to incorporate art into a wide array of transportation projects. To date, more than 175 artists -- including poets, performing artists and visual artists -- have been commissioned to enhance the Metro Rail and Metro Bus system.

Artists are invited to attend one of the workshops, which will be held in January at various locations throughout Los Angeles County. Workshops are free and open to all.
