Artists Wanted /
(LOS
ANGELES) MTA Metro Art will conduct a series of orientation workshops in
January on how to apply for commissions for upcoming transit-related
public art opportunities. Projects under consideration include a variety
of artistic opportunities, such as designs for bus stops, rail stations,
streetscapes, bus exteriors, construction fences and trading cards. MTA
commissions artists to incorporate art into a wide array of transportation
projects. To date, more than 175 artists -- including poets, performing
artists and visual artists -- have been commissioned to enhance the Metro
Rail and Metro Bus system. Artists
are invited to attend one of the workshops, which will be held in January
at various locations throughout Los Angeles County. Workshops are free and
open to all.
Workshops
are free. For more information, and to join the mailing list for artist
