Metro to update community on the Eastside Transit Corridor Phase 2

Friday August 20, 2010

Metro will hold two public meetings in September to update the public on the environmental study that is evaluating two possible alternatives, which would connect the Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension to cities further east of Los Angeles by light transit rail.

Communities in the study include; City of Commerce, El Monte, Los Angeles, Montebello, Monterey Park, Pico Rivera, Rosemead, Santa Fe Springs, South El Monte, Whittier and unincorporated portions of Los Angeles County.

Metro will update the public on the next steps for the Eastside Transit Corridor Phase 2 (ETCP2) Draft Environmental Impact Study/Report (Draft EIS/EIR) analysis. It will also included an update on public comments that Metro’s received during the scooping period as well as an update on planning efforts and technical work that have been completed to date.

Wednesday, September 1, Montebello Golf Course, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Cannoneer Room, 901 Via San Clemente, Montebello. Served by Metro bus Line 287

Thursday, September 2, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Town Center Hall, Social Hall, 11740 Telegraph Road, Santa Fe Springs. Served by Metro Bus Line 62

Metro strongly encourages the public to attend the meeting that is the most convenient since the content presented at both meetings will be the same. For those residents that have never attended a project meeting, a 30 minutes open house session will be held for a project orientation.
