Metro Blue Line Service to Be Delayed Due To Maintenance Work on Anaheim Street in Long Beach Beginning September 17

Monday September 13, 2010

Metro Blue Line passengers may experience service delays up to 30 minutes this coming weekend beginning Friday night, September 17, due to rail-track maintenance work on Long Beach Boulevard at Anaheim Street in Long Beach. A shuttle train will run every 20 to 25 minutes between the Pacific Coast Highway and Transit Mall stations in downtown Long Beach.

Work will begin at 8 p.m. on Friday and continue until 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, when Metro expects to have the Metro Blue Line service restored between the Pacific Coast Highway and the Transit Mall stations.

Metro Blue Line service between the Pacific Coast Highway and 7th/Metro Center Station will operate regular service during this time.

Maintenance work on the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and Anaheim Street will include removing and replacing asphalt and crossing pads.

Metro apologize for this inconvenience and advices its Metro Blue Line patrons to allow extra time to complete their trips. For more information on how to plan a trip on Metro Bus or Metro Rail visit the Trip Planner at Metro’s website at www.metro.net or call Metro Customer Relations at (213) 922-6235.
