Metro Blue Line Service Notice

Tuesday March 20, 2007

On Friday, March 23 beginning at 9 p.m. through Saturday, March 24, Metro Rail workers will be rehabilitating the grade crossing at 48th Place, south of the Metro Blue Line Vernon Station.

The south bound track (Track 2) will be out of service during this time. North bound and south bound Metro Blue Line trains will share the northbound track (Track 1) between Florence and Washington stations. Trains will experience some service delays during this rehab work. Metro Blue Line trains will be operating every 20 minutes instead of their regular schedule of every 12 to 15 minutes. Patrons should arriver earlier than normal when planning their trip.

North bound passengers traveling to Los Angeles on the Metro Blue Line at Vernon, Slauson and Firestone stations will need to board on the south bound (west) side of the platform.

Regular service will be restored as soon as work is completed. Metro apologies for any inconvenience caused to Metro Blue Line patrons.

For information, patrons can call 1-800-C-O-M-M-U-T-E or visit Metro’s web site at www.metro.net. The 22-mile Metro Blue Line operates between downtown Los Angeles and Long Beach.
