Wednesday September 01, 2010

Metro is the perfect way to reach the 2010 Downtown Film Festival L.A. Dedicated to showcasing the best of independent cinema, the Film Festival also celebrates the renaissance of downtown Los Angeles with events including live music performances, art exhibitions, loft parties and panel discussions in a variety of locations throughout downtown L.A.

Highlights of this year's five-day festival will include the Los Angeles premiere of "American: The Bill Hicks Story" at the opening night gala; Digital Art L.A., the festival's cutting-edge video program during the September Art Walk; the American Latino Film Series; the premiere of “Red Hot Chili Peppers: Untitled Documentary" at The Grammy Museum at L.A. Live; Taco Cinema, an all-day/night street food and film fest on Saturday, Sept. 11 and a free-to-the-public outdoor screening on closing night of "Lost Angels," the feature documentary companion to last year's hit movie "The Soloist."

More information on the festival and advance tickets are available at dffla.com. For the best route to reach the events via Metro go to the Trip Planner at metro.net or call 1-800-COMMUTE. Downtown L.A. is served by the Metro Red, Purple, Blue and Gold lines, as well as many buses.
