The section of Grand Park from Grand Avenue to Hill Street, located in front of The Music Center, will open to the public on July 28 in conjunction with National Dance Day and the west coast's flagship National Dance Day Celebration presented by the Music Center and the Dizzy Feet Foundation. All park visitors, young and old, are invited to participate in a free, interactive dance experience.
Lauren Gottlieb, an All-Star from the dance show, "So You Think You Can Dance," and Gina Grant, from Zumba, will lead the public at Grand Park in the official dance routines of National Dance Day. To learn the official dance routines ahead of the event, visit dizzyfeetfoundation.org. The National Dance Day Celebration lasts from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Park visitors will also enjoy free community dance classes and performances, a special performance by IRIS from Cirque du Soleil, other fun activities and food trucks throughout the rest of the afternoon.
The weekend's public celebration will continue from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 29 with inaugural musical events featuring regional musical performers presented by Grand Performances in partnership with the Music Center.
