Welcome to the Expo Line media center, a compilation of information on the opening of the Exposition Light Rail to Culver City. Here you can access news releases, grab an embed code from YouTube, download hi-res photos and link to online information.

Phase I of the Metro Expo Line is a new $932 million, 8.6-mile light rail line under construction from downtown Los Angeles to Culver City. It will have 12 stations with two stations shared with the Metro Blue Line. The new light rail line will serve USC, Exposition Park, The Mid-City communities, the Crenshaw District and Culver City.

Phase II of the Metro Expo Line, a $1.5 billion, 6.6-mile extension from Culver City to Santa Monica, is funded under the Measure R half-cent sale tax initiative approved by the voters in 2008. Phase II will have seven stations serving West Los Angeles/Santa Monica and is expected to be completed in 2016.

Metro Joins Local Elected Officials for the Dedication of the New Expo Line Culver City Station
LOS ANGELES (June 20, 2013) Los Angeles Mayor and Metro Board Chair Antonio Villaraigosa joined Culver City Mayor Andy Weissman and other local elected officials today to officially dedicate the opening of the Expo Line Culver City Station located in the heart of Culver City at the intersection of Washington and National.  Both the Culver City Station and the Farmdale Station will open to the public at noon today.

Metro to Open Culver City and Farmdale Stations along the New Expo Line to the Public on Wednesday, June 20 
LOS ANGELES (June 5, 2012): Los Angeles Mayor and Metro Board Chair Antonio Villaraigosa announced today that Metro will officially open to the public both the Culver City Station and the Farmdale Station along the recently opened Metro Expo Line on Wednesday, June 20 at 12 noon.

LOS ANGELES (June 11, 2012): Grab your trendy fabric shopping bag and leave those stilettos behind. It's time to visit Culver City for great food -- in restaurants, shops and at the Tuesday farmers' market. Metro will soon take you there aboard Expo -- the first passenger rail to the Westside in more than 50 years.

Metro Bus Service Changes to be Implemented Sunday June 17 with Improved Bus Connections with New Metro Expo Light Rail Line 
LOS ANGELES (June 5, 2012): Beginning Sunday, June 17, 2012, Metro will implement bus service changes to a number of bus lines throughout Los Angeles County, make adjustments to existing bus lines to better serve the new Metro Expo Line and implement other minor route improvements.

LOS ANGELES (April 20, 2012): Metro will celebrate the opening of the Metro Expo Line with fun-filled family events at four Metro Expo Line rail stations on Saturday, April 28. Festivities will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Live music, community booths, on-stage karaoke and local dance, entertainment and food trucks are just some of the activities planned at the four stations.

Los Angeles (April 11, 2012): The Metro Expo light rail line between downtown Los Angeles and Culver City is opening to La Cienega/Jefferson Station on April 28 and will arrive in Culver City this summer, with trains scheduled to run initially every 12 minutes during peak periods. With the new light rail train service up and running, Metro is reminding pedestrians and motorists to be alert, stay updated on safety tips and take advantage of the safety resources offered.

Metro to Open New Expo Line to the Public on Saturday, April 28; Expo Test Trains Increase Frequency into Early Morning Peak Hours Beginning Sunday, March 25
Los Angeles (March 23, 2012): Los Angeles Mayor and Metro Board Chair Antonio Villaraigosa announced today during a Metro Expo test train ride that the new light rail line between downtown Los Angeles and Culver City will open to the public on Saturday, April 28. Opening to the public in April will be the segment from downtown Los Angeles to the Expo/La Cienega Station. Construction work continues on the Culver City station.

Culver City, Farmdale Stations Feature 32 New Artworks for the Metro Expo Line
LOS ANGELES (June 14, 2012) The final two stations to open on the Metro Expo Line, Culver City and Farmdale, include 32 new glass mosaic artworks, with original artwork designs created by Los Angeles artists Tom LaDuke and Michael Massenburg. In total, 176 new artworks on the Expo Line enrich the transit environment and contribute to the artistic vibrancy of the neighborhoods served by Metro.
