Local and State Dignitaries Celebrate Official Dedication of New Metro Expo Light Rail Line

Los Angeles Mayor and Metro Board Chair Antonio Villaraigosa joined state and local elected officials today along with Metro and Exposition Metro Line Construction Authority executives to officially celebrate the dedication of the new Metro Expo light rail line at a special ceremony adjacent to the Expo Park/USC Station near the University of Southern California.The Expo Light Rail Line opens to the public on Saturday, April 28. Metro Board certifies Final Environmental Impact Report for Regional Connector Project

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) Board of Directors today certified the Final Environmental Impact Statement/Report (EIS/EIR) for the $1.37 billion Regional Connector Transit Corridor Project, a priority transit project that will connect light rail lines through downtown L.A. and greatly improve connectivity for the entire L.A. County transportation network.

Metro Board approves Westside Subway Extension Final Environmental Report, will hold hearing for Beverly Hills

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) Board of Directors today voted to certify the Final Environmental Impact Statement/Report (EIS/EIR) for the Westside Subway Extension Project. This action readies the initial construction phase of the $5.66 billion Measure R project for final design.

Metro Holds April 30 Meeting in Palmdale to Discuss Unmet Public Transit Needs for the North County and the City of Avalon

As a follow up to the Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 8 Public Hearings, Los Angeles County Transportation Authority (Metro) will be holding a TDA Article 8 Hearing Board meeting to review the recommendations made by the Social Services Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC) and oral and written comments made in the North County and the City of Avalon Public Hearings. At the Hearing Board Meeting they will also be an opportunity for public testimony or to submit written comments.

With Metro Expo Line opening April 28, officials remind everyone to stop, look and listen when approaching and crossing railroad tracks

The Metro Expo light rail line between downtown Los Angeles and Culver City is opening to La Cienega/Jefferson Station on April 28 and will arrive in Culver City this summer, with trains scheduled to run initially every 12 minutes during peak periods. With the new light rail train service up and running, Metro is reminding pedestrians and motorists to be alert, stay updated on safety tips and take advantage of the safety resources offered.

Metro to Hold Community Meetings in April to Update the Public on the East San Fernando Valley Transit Corridor Study

Metro, in cooperation with the City of Los Angeles, will hold three community meetings in April to update the public on the Alternatives Analysis (AA) study that is evaluating options to improve north-south travel opportunities in the East San Fernando Valley and provide connections to the regional transportation network. The AA study is a precursor to the draft environmental document.
