Metro implements new transit information number 323.GOMETRO effective July 1, 2011 replacing 1.800.COMMUTE

 Effective July 1, 2011,the Los Angeles County's transportation information telephone number 1-800 COMMUTE will be discontinued and replaced with a new number 323.GO.METRO. While the phone number is changing, the service remains the same. Metro Customer Information agents will continue to handle approximately 50,000 calls a week from riders seeking assistance with bus and rail trip planning.

Artwork for Westlake/MacArthur Park Metro Rail Station in Los Angeles recognized as one of nation’s best public art projects

Porcelain mosaic murals by Los Angeles artist Sonia Romero depicting urban life around MacArthur Park have been named one of the best public art projects in the United States by the organization Americans for the Arts.The announcement was delivered on June 16, during the Americans for the Arts annual convention in San Diego.

Surveying work scheduled to take place along Sepulveda Boulevard between Mountaingate and north of Skirball Center Drive beginning Saturday June 11, 2011, for one week

Work crews will begin June 11 to survey the area in preparation for the relocation of existing overhead utility lines along Sepulveda Blvd between Mountaingate Dr and the area located approximately 500 feet north of Skirball Center Dr.  Surveying work will be conducted during the day time hours and will not require any lane closures along Sepulveda Blvd.

Harbor Transitway carpool lanes on the I-110 Harbor Freeway closing nightly 10 p.m. beginning June 5 through early morning hours of June 10

Due to preliminary road work in preparation for the ExpressLanes Demonstration Project, HOV carpool lanes on the I-110 Harbor Transitway will be closed nightly Monday through Friday from 10 p.m. through 5 a.m. The lanes will reopen at the conclusion of the road work by 5 a.m. on Friday morning, June 10. Lane closures are weather-permitting and subject to change.
