Metro Bus Operators Donald Dube and Jack Bailey were recognized at Metro (Metro) Board of Directors meeting held July 23 for 50 years of service.
Metro's web site metro.net has launched five humorous Go Metro videos promoting ridership and soon those spots will begin showing at movie theaters throughout Los Angeles County. The videos promote ridership on the bus and rail system, as well as other Metro programs, including carpooling and vanpooling.
Metro’s (Metro) Board of Directors today approved toll rates to be used on portions of the I-10/I-110 ExpressLanes following a series of public hearings that gathered public input on the tolling pricing proposal to be implemented as part of the agency’s Congestion Reduction Demonstration Project (ExpressLanes) that will debut late next year.

Excitement is just around the corner when you Go Metro to the X-Games at STAPLES Center and Home Depot Center, July 30 through Aug. 2. Motocross champions James Stewart and Brian Deegan will be among the 200 competitors this year.
The Tony Award winning musical "Spamalot" has finally arrived in Los Angeles and Metro can take you there. A riff on the beloved film “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” “Spamalot” is playing at the Ahmanson Theatre through Sept. 6. The show stars John O’Hurley from TV’s “Seinfeld” as King Arthur, with the book written by original Monty Python member Eric Idle. Winner of the Tony Award for both best musical and best director, this rousing and delightful show is expected to be a hit in Los Angeles.

Metro's web site has launched the Summer 2009 Metro Motion cable television show on Metro Interactive, the metro.net video page. Metro Motion is a half-hour news show featuring a variety of entertaining and informative transportation news and feature stories. It runs quarterly on cable stations throughout Los Angeles County.
In response to requests of Duarte City Council members and city residents, Metro has scheduled three tours and a community open house. These tours will provide an opportunity to see all three of Metro’s operating light rail maintenance yards.
In a successful public/private partnership, Metro (Metro) has officially signed a license agreement with Google Inc. to include Metro's bus and rail information on Google Maps, a move that is expected to boost local transit ridership and make it much easier for anyone on the Web to plan their Los Angeles area transit trips on Metro.
