MTA will partially close Whitsett Avenue at Chandler Boulevard on Friday, Nov. 28 and Saturday, Nov. 29 during non-peak hours to perform construction work in association with the San Fernando Valley Metro Rapidway project. The Whitsett Avenue closure will occur during mid-days and off-peak hours only.
MTA's community-based transit service sector governance councils will hold public meetings in December to discuss transit issues pertaining to their individual service sectors.
Commuters returning to Metro Buses and Rail lines after the transit strike can receive a welcome back treat from MTA and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. On Monday, Nov. 24 between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., MTA will be handing out 10,000 Krispy Kreme doughnut coupons at 12 Metro transit locations.
The Hollywood Christmas Parade is a week away, and getting to this annual holiday attraction has never been easier, thanks to Metro Rail. The Metro Red Line subway offers stops along the parade route at Hollywood and Highland and Hollywood and Vine.
The Metro Rail system will resume normal hours of operation effective Saturday, Nov. 22. The Metro Red, Blue, Green and Gold lines will be in service through the standard end of operating day, which varies by line. Following today's announcement of a tentative contract agreement between MTA and the Amalgamated Transit Union, MTA has announced that rides on all Metro buses and trains will be free through Saturday, Nov. 22.
